道化服ぬがずてんたう虫の死よ  鷹羽狩行

            still in a clown’s attire

            the death

            of a ladybug…

Fay’s Note:   “head of summer” is a literal translation of “shuka,” a Japanese kigo meaning “early summer.”   I thought “head of summer” is an interesting expression and decided to use it.
