Today’s Haiku (May 10, 2022)

若きらが打楽器叩く港首夏   小倉英男

wakakira ga dagakki tataku minato shuka

            young people play percussion

            the harbor

            at the head of summer

Fay’s Note:   “head of summer” is a literal translation of “shuka,” a Japanese kigo meaning “early summer.”   I thought “head of summer” is an interesting expression and decided to use it.
