Today’s Haiku (March 7, 2017)

墓石に刻む一文字鳥帰る   須田真弓

hakaishi ni kizamu hitomoji tori kaeru

            one letter

            carved on the tombstone

            birds return

Fay’s Note:  ‘tori kaeru’ (a bird returns) is a spring kigo.   Migrating birds, such as cranes and swans return to north in the spring.
