Today’s Haiku (June 6, 2016)

朝粥や芒種の雨がみづうみに  秋山幹生

asagayu ya bôshu no umi ga mizuumi ni

              morning porridge—

              the rain in a rice-planting season

              becomes a lake

Fay’s Note:  ‘bôshu’ (awn seeding) is one of the 24 divisions of the four seasons.   It is around June 6 when farmers plant rice in Japan.
