Today’s Haiku (November 27, 2015)

冬晴や物の本質何と何  岸本尚毅

fuyubare ya mono no honshitsu nani to nani

            clear day in winter—

            the essence of things

            are this and that

Fay’s Note:   Literary translation of the last 5 letters in the original Japanese is ‘nani to nani’ is ‘what and what.’    I hope I catch the nuance of what a poet intended.
