Today’s Haiku (September 16, 2015)

一羽二羽雀また来て蛤に  広渡敬雄

ichiwa niwa suzume mata kite hamaguri ni

            one… two…

            sparrows come again

            to become clams

Fay’s Note:  ‘suzume hamaguri to naru’ (sparrow becomes a clam) is one of seventy-two seasons; around mid-October on the modern calendar.
