ひぐらしの打振る鈴の善意かな  飯田龍太

higurashi no uchifuru suzu no zeni kana

            evening cicada

            rings the bell

            and its good will

Fay’s Note:   Ryuta Iida (1920-2007)    ‘semi (cicada)’ is a summer kigo, but ‘higurashi (evening cicada)’ is an autumn kigo.     Autumn starts around August 8 according to saijiki.
